Record sized Rhinos

Ather reading on the Wikipendia website that the record weight for a Indian Rhino was approxmately 3500kgs I thought I would just ask if anyone would know if that was correct, it states the normal weight for male is around 2200 kgs to 3000kgs and 1600kgs for females?.

I found a website about three years ago which listed weights of captive Indian Rhinos in some German zoos but I cant seem to find the site any more.

I have read quite a bit of information about this species on the net with some comments stating some wild males can almost reach the size (mass) of a female Asian elehant.

Zoo rhinos can get terribly overweight, so I wouldn't be surprised if zoo rhino was so heavy.

BTW - there was over the internet an article comparing pictures of wild and captive elephants and rhinos. After that I am not happy looking at most zoo pachyderms - most are overweight on body with thin legs with underdeveloped muscles - like people who have extreme, worst sitting lifestyle.

I think they were refering to the weight and size of wild Rhinos on Wikipendia

well, Indian rhinos can actually grow larger than the white rhino. And the way they are built compared to an elephant it wouldn't surprise me if some can grow larger than an asian cow.
