Hello Guys,

Another member has suggested I post this link onto the forums:

Velkommen til Egern-Hobby

The website includes not only this Private Collecters impressive collection, including Petaurista Alborufus - Red and White Giant Flying Squirrels, but pages on his enclosures and enclosure construction.

His collection consists of:

Callosciurus erythraeus
Callosciurus prevoste bankenus
Callosciurus prevoste Raflessi
Callosciurus prevoste borneoensis
callosciurus ferrugineus
Sciurus variogantodes rigidus
Sciurus stramineus
Sciurus grannatensis hoffmanni
Sciurus variogantoides artirifus
Sciurus niger
Dremomys pernyi
Tamiops swinhoei
Tamiops mcclellandii
Tamias striatus (Mutation)
Hodson tamiasciurus hodsonicus
Spermophilus variegatus
Callosciurus finlaysoni
Scurius carolensis

Sorry if I have a few "bits & bobs" wrong in terms of the collection list. The website isnt in English... Either way, its an extremely impressive collection!

The website includes pictures of every species he keeps. (Usually around 4 pictures for each species he keeps, yet there are 9 great photos of his Red and White Giants!

Thanks for the link Paix , some beautiful Squirrels in the collection .

I can't believe I hadn't heard of this guy before! I will be working near his adress in November so maybe I should ask if I could pop by and see those giant flying squirrels ;)

Great link paix, quite a hefty collection there, and those Red and White Giant Squirrels are fantastic, i can't help wondering if they are on the radar of public collections, and could they become available?

Maybe I should add that these species:
Hodson tamiasciurus hodsonicus
Spermophilus variegatus
Callosciurus finlaysoni
Scurius carolensis
Are in the tab that explicitly states that he does NOT keep them currently. But of course, that's not easy to know when you don't speak Danish ;)

Thanks so much for the information! It really isnt easy to know when you dont speak the language! :p One question though, why has he listed them on his sight, if he doesnt keep them? Are they species he has previously kept?

Directly translated, it says "squirrel species that I currently do not keep in my husbandry of squirrels".

That line and the fact that he has pictures of them, strongly implies (almost outright states) that he did keep them in the past, I believe.
