Red-legged frog egg translocation

Thanks for this VC an interesting article and such an easy way to transfer species too.

I do it every year in our garden pond, keeping some eggs away from predators in an aquarium and releasing the young frogs about a month earlier than mother nature. It's working for me as this year we have the largest number of common frog (Rana temporaria) we have had in our garden since the grass snakes turned up 6 years ago.
Good luck to the red legged eggs!

A big problem for the frogs and newts are the red crawfish that have invaded the streams in this area. Invasive bullfrogs also eat both species. The newt has one thing going for it, they are highly toxic. They can kill the bullfrogs but the crayfish eat the egg masses. It makes it tough to obtain any recruitment. I wish them luck.
