Adelaide Zoo Red Panda movements

There has and will be quite a bit of shuffling around in terms of red pandas at Adelaide:

-"Shahin" the former breeding male is being retired off display after he was about to be sent to Cairns Tropical Zoo but had a blood disease so was not fit to travel

-His son "Himal" has been sent to Symbio for breeding

-One of Himal's daughters "Imandari" is going to be sent to India in order to be released into the wild

-A male "Pemba" (originally born at Taronga) has arrived from Halls Gap to be paired with Himal's other daughter "Maya".

I've got to ask: how on earth do you guys know about the day-to-day operations of zoos? This seems like confidential information to a layman like me......

the red panda info is straight from the email newsletter sent out to subscribers

I actually got it from the Adelaide Zoo website news blog but I think this info is also in the newsletter.

The exciting news is the release of an Australian captive bred red panda into the wild.
