San Diego Zoo red shanked douc langurs at san diego zoo circa 1984

i came across this image i took at the san diego zoo between 1983 and 1985. While wandering around I came across a canvas enclosure and peeked my lens through an opening in a corner, capturing these red shanked douc langurs. They mesmerized me, and i am so glad i captured that memory. The douc langur on the left looks pensive, perhaps apprehensive, maybe being processed in or out. Does anyone know anything about the douc langur population there in that time frame?

Just the two langurs were there at the zoo then, I think.

According to the excellent book "Longevity of Mammals in Captivity; From the Living Collections of the World” (Richard Weigl; 2005), a red-shanked douc langur, born San Diego 13th March 1970, died there 31st March 1995. This individual, with a lifespan of twenty-five years, is the longest lived douc langur listed in Weigl's book.
