Rediscovered Species 2020

Rediscovered species of snake named the Selangor mud snake found in The Phillippines. It was last seen in 1914.

Rare Selangor mud snake rediscovered in Singapore after 106 years
The species was "rediscovered" in Singapore, not the Philippines, but the "rediscovery" was only in terms of Singapore where it had only been recorded once previously. The species is otherwise found in (probably throughout) Peninsular Malaysia, being recorded from the states of Perak, Selangor and Pahang.

Whoops

A couple of threads on Bird Forum state that Black-browed Babbler, a bird unrecorded through the whole 20th century, has been rediscovered in Borneo and recorded on Xenocanto.
Very interesting if true! Hopefully we can get some pictures.

This one might never make it due to their extremely short lifespan. :)

Hopefully so, but somehow I dont think that would be a deterrent to some of the more hardcore collectors out there who are typically of a pathologically obssessional bent.

Do collectors have an extremely short lifespan?

I certainly wish they did but unfortunately not :(

Only when located by irate conservationists!

LOL ,if they could be located then I'm sure many of them may experience a reduced lifespan and particularly the herp and bird collectors but sadly they are usually very well hidden and often very well protected too.
