A yellow-crested helmetshrike, a species not observed for over twenty years and feared to possibly be extinct, has been found and photographed on Itombwe Massif in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The expedition also rediscovered another species, the red-bellied squeaker frog, Arthroleptis hematogaster, which had not been seen since the 1950s.

Rediscovery of a species of bush cricket from South America which has not been seen formally since 1862 found within a purchased collection of insects in 2022. Rediscovery of the Sri Lankan golden-backed frog on the India mainland which was last seen in the 1800s found in the southernmost point in the Eastern Ghats. There is a 0.2%-1% genetic difference between the newly-found population in India and the populations in Sri Lanka, which provides evidence of a land bridge once connecting the 2 pieces of land.

A new Re:Wild expedition into the Makira Forest in Madagascar in September 2023 unveiled 20 rediscovered species including:

- 3 fish species (2 last seen in 2003, 1 last seen in 2006)
- 3 ant-like flower beetle species (2 last seen in 1958, 1 last seen date not specified)
- 3 jumping spider species (last seen in 1900, 1978, and 1980 respectively)

I wouldn't call it a rediscovery (just pretty rare taxa in a part of the world fairly unvisited by 'western people') more like a first time photograph, which is still pretty cool!
