They are not suggesting that's where the sea lions will definitely move to, just speculating based on collections that already house Californians. Why would it be to YWP ?

That's Right and the seals will indeed have a nice new home and it does mean Woburn will be home to both Sealions and SealsThey are not suggesting that's where the sea lions will definitely move to, just speculating based on collections that already house Californians.

Wait hang on. When did you hear about the sealions leaving ?No it wont. Woburn's Sea Lions are leaving to make way for the Seals. Bristol have helped speed up that process but finding a suitable home for the Sea Lions, but the exhibit the Seals are going into at Woburn, is the one currently housing the Sea Lions. When the Sea Lions leave to their new collection, Woburn will then be able to receive Bristol's Seals.
See my post earlier in this thread:Wait hang on. When did you hear about the sealions leaving ?
doesn't look like they are going to keep both species. Brian Zimmerman, director of Conservation and Science at Bristol Zoological Society, said the following in an interview:
"It's obviously easier to find a home for some than others. The three South American fur seals proved particularly difficult. "Pinnipeds are expensive to care for and not many places have them. Finding a home for them was always going to be a challenge," says Zimmerman.
"It was a bit of shuffling - one zoo was willing to take them in, but it had Californian sea lions that had to move first. It's a bit like a chess game - we helped them find a home for the sea lions to make room for the fur seals.""

‘It’s an act of greed’: hundreds protest over Bristol zoo closure
In reality most of the people there live in Clifton and don’t want more housing in their prestigious neighbourhood, if they cared about zoological efforts they’d buy the zoo site themselvesAs always with these things one can't help wondering how many of the people there present bothered to patronise the place when it was open.

I was being sarcastic I thought that was obviousYou do realise Bristol Zoological Society want the best part of £40m for the site? There is probably only 2 Bristolians who could afford to buy it for non housing and that's Peter Hargreaves and Stephen Lansdown!
You could get 12 acres to build a zoo on for a lot less than £40m that's for sure!
As a zoo, I doubt the site is worth anymore than 2-3m at the very most, which is nowhere near what Bristol Zoo would take. The reason they wanted to close it and sell it, was it funds the Bristol Zoo build over at Cribbs, and secures the zoos future, if it didn't have prime land value, they wouldn't have considered it I'm sure.
You could have all the people at that march, and all their families and then some, and they still wouldn't have anywhere near what it would take to buy that site, so I think saying they don't care is pretty flawed.
I think that means only the gorillas and some reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates are left now unless I’m mistaken?Bristol Zoo's two South American fur seals Toro and Pablo have been rehomed at Banham Zoo.

All of which will stay within Bristol for the upcoming developments right??I think that means only the gorillas and some reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates are left now unless I’m mistaken?
I would imagine so whilst their habitats are under construction. All of which will stay within Bristol for the upcoming developments right??
