The Visayan Warty Pig sisters seem to have been sent to Pittsburgh. With the bear and warty pigs gone, are tigers all that remain in the Asia exhibit?
Sarus cranes also got shipped out recently. The Asian animals are Malayan tiger and white-handed gibbon. As far as I know (based on the latest zoo newsletter), the reason for the moves is to make room for a new expanded gibbon exhibit. The newsletter said it should be done by the end of 2015, along with a new carousel.
A male Southern Tamandua named Paulo was born recently.
A male Baird's Tapir was born on August 29th.

21-month-old male lion Bakko has died. Valley fever and kidney disease seem to be the cause of death.

Early election results have shown that the Pima County bonds might all fail, meaning that millions of dollars earmarked for improvements to Reid Park Zoo and ASDM will not happen. So much for ASDM's long-anticipated jaguar exhibit.
