It also amazes me that Lungile has not conceived since 2007, when she had her only calf. It died shortly after birth. But I don't count on getting pregnant, because even Mabu, the most successful breeding bull in America, has produced no more calves with her. What are the odds of the zoos other female elephant Lungile ever becoming pregnant? I assume she's similar in age to Semba?
Has cow Lungile ever been reproductively examined? It also amazes me that Lungile has not conceived since 2007, when she had her only calf. It died shortly after birth.
