Remember stereograms?

Well, despite what i said before, I've found it's much easier to do it with my glasses on!

In fact, on this last one, I couldn't read the words without my glasses!

:p

Haven't seen a random dot stereogram in years! I've always had the ability to unfocus my eyes at will, so for me it's just a matter of how far to unfocus them, then the picture just pops into view like magic! The last is see/hear/speak no evil.

My former A-level chemistry teacher had one real and one glass eye, wonder if that helps too?

I don't think he would see anything in these. I once showed a 3D video to my students (in the days when this was a novelty) but I had a one-eyed student in my class so I had a quiet word with her beforehand to apologise as she wouldn't get much benefit.
The trick that works for me is to look through the screen and think of nothing. You have to give your brain time to work out the pattern - once you've got the first it gets easier.

Still she possibly enjoyed more 3d effect in the normal videos. You can really improve the 3d effect of some paintings etc by using only one eye.

My PhD was in looking at how the brain deals with conflicting depth information eg stereograms (depth) on a screen (flat). A subject of greater importance the more we fake 3d things in 2d particularly for processes requiring accuracy. Some people are really freaked by such stuff and cannot come up with any kind of consistent interpretation of what they are seeing.

I am trying to keep them as animal-related as possible, and that looks like a tassie devil to me. :D

Here is another one to keep you guys going.

for a few seconds I saw three monkeys with the tallest one drinking something, then it went again.....I could have imagined it as I couldn't see it at again at all.....if it is right, it is the first one ever!!

Did I pop my Stereogram cherry?

You all suck! I still think you're lying.

Until yesterday I was the same, then for only about 4-5 seconds I saw the monkeys but couldn't see them again after that.

I think part of the secret is that you have to switch off your brain, relax and that helps. My problem is that when I look at these things, random thoughts tend to bob into my head, then my eyes try too hard to concentrate on the stereogram and nothing happens.
