Reptarium Reptarium + LegaSea Aquarium news and updates

I think he did leave as well, which is surprising. I might need to look more into it.

Very curious if their investors (of which there are many, iirc) are behind some of the cuts.

This whole place reminds you of a Broadway show that is too expensive to ever make a profit. Brian was very clear that they never ever made money from the Reptarium. It was a backdrop (and a perfect one) for their vlog. This place cost several million dollars. Hard to make back that investment on 25 dollar tickets for a spot in suburban Detroit who shares their parking lot with a discount shoe store.

All of this without the face/revenue driver for the enterprise.

Head zookeeper is still the 6, thankfully.

Latest video is concerning as it appears they only have 1 shark (a zebra) left in their tank after what was around 5, iirc.

No blacktips remain. Quite surprising as Steve Bashi is known, specifically, for aquatic life support systems and none of them seem to be working.

Hope you are doing well. Could tell how much you loved the animals and your early work surely doesn't go unnoticed when you open the comments
I appreciate that. I loved the community dearly there. Jay Tomsky is a friend for life and I learned quite a lot! I am at the cook museum of natural science now and they’re doing a 100 million expansion so I get to expand on all I learned at LegaSea at this new place and it’s very exciting

Are you able to say what happened? I have heard many things and would like to know the full story.

I’m not at liberty to share full details due to an NDA. I was let go in truth but I was checked out at the end. Too many egos in one room for me and my time there had ran its course. I’ve worked at several places that range from AZA to ZAA to non accredited, without a doubt, they are by far the most poorly ran, managed and educated as far as animal care
