kc7gr, yes those Lady Ross turacos really are heavy! They had several, I fed two of them I think, I wonder if the one you fed is still alive and less shy than it used to be?

My favorite aviaries are the two largest at San Diego Zoo, I love giant flight exhibits and the hillside locations of both with their rainforest birds are wonderful; I also have to admit that they are the aviaries of my childhood so I have an emotional attachment to them as well!

where can we find a complete ranked list of your favorite aviaries? I really want to try to build up my life list of exotic birds, and need to know where all the great aviaries are. I am very excited to now be living only about hour from Houston Zoo with its large bird collection, which will be revamping its aviaries by 2021 (hope this means more and not less species!)

I don’t have a list of favorite aviaries, I suppose if I had one it would treat avian facilities (such as Save Our Seabirds in Sarasota Florida that I just visited) differently than aviary sections of zoos if they have them, to individual enclosures in zoos.
