hi, im about to book a roar "n" snore at taronga's western plains zoo and was wondering if anyone who has participated could give me a review.

thanks

You get let in to the zoo around six, set up your tent Come down for a meet and greet with the staff and sometimes some animals from the ed centre.

After a few drinks and nibbles you go into the ed centre which is pretty impressive (small collection compared to Taronga's ed centre but better atmosphere. You can meet anything from 5 - 10 animals, depending on the size of the group and what animals are available to be used.

After the classroom session you have dinner and dessert (used to be a bbq dinner but changed last week to a caterer so staff can spend more time with visitors)

After dinner and dessert there's the night walk, goes for about an hour and a half out the back near VQC, won't tell you what you see but it's more about everything that goes on behind the scenes rather than seeing animals.

After the night walk you get back, have hot chocolate, marshmallows and a camp fire (no fire in summer though). Then bed.

Wake up at about 6 the next mmorning, get packed and have breakfast (bacon and eggs). Then leave for your morning walk at about half past seven. Tghe morning walk goes for 2 hours and you get to see alot more animals and alot closer than you would on display. The majority of the morning walk happens out the back.

The walk finishes around the meerkats in time for the meerkat keeper talk and the rest of the day is yours to see the zoo.

Not yet but am planning to do it with my two older kids 5 and 7 as soon as I have time.
