Rhinoceros Hornbills

All the photos I've seen of Rhinoceros Hornbills show the casque on top of the bill curving up at the end, but the actual birds I've seen at Chester Zoo both have straight casques, without the curve. Is the curve something that develops with age? The Hornbills at Chester are Javan; does this feature not occur in the Javan race?
Can anybody help with this?

PM hornbill he can help!

He might even post....

The casque of silvestris is almost straight, rhinoceros and borneoensis curve at the tip. The casque of the male borneoensis turns back upon itself.

Unless Mr Writhed Hornbill knows something I don't.
