0:1 Angolian Giraffe was born on the 29th of May to mum 'Bernadete'. The calf has been named 'Dama'.

Yes, they moved to Spain with that intention.
Visited Rio Safari Elche yesterday and a few changes to note;
-A few changes in the ‘Reptile Cave’: the Yellow-faced Sliders, Sulcatta Tortoise, Chinese Water Dragon, Tegu, Bearded Dragon are no longer on-show in the Reptile house, with the Boa Constrictor exhibit being refurbished and the Green Iguana also now have there own exhibit rather than sharing with the Marmoset. Gambian Pouched Rat, Yemen Chameleon and Spur-thighed Tortoise have since been added.
-Also a few changes in parrot aviaries; the Black & White Casqued Hornbill have been moved to a much larger aviary neighbouring the Curassow, a vast improvement from there old enclosure. The budgerigar have been moved into a different aviary which they share with a lone Curassow. Sun Conure and Senegal Parrot also seemed to no longer be on-show. Blue-winged Macaw have also been added to one of the aviaries.
-A few changes from the primate row; Cotton-topped Tamarin have been added (according to the guidebook arrived in November last year from a rescue centre in Germany) with the Green Monkey and Golden-bellied Mangabey getting a larger enclosure thanks to the removal to a much larger enclosure by the Lemur walk-through of the younger pair of Black-crested Mangabeys. The old male Black-crested Mangabey, called ‘Kryspin’ aged 34, still resides in his former enclosure.
-The cat row which was home to European Lynx and Puma has now been demolished.
-Work has also started on an extension to the Pygmy Hippo enclosure, including a waterfall.
-The former Ring-tailed Lemur enclosure has now been turned into 3 aviaries holding European Eagle-Owl, Peregrine Falcon and European Kestrel.
-The fallow deer no longer share there enclosure with the giraffe and oryx and now share with European Mouflon in a paddock adjoining the drive-through.

2 more dromedary camels have been born after the dromedary camel born on March 28th.
2 Pere David's Deer were born on April 27th.
An African Crested Porcupine was born on May 2nd.
On May 14th, a baby Ring-Tailed lemur was born.

Mildly recent news: Rio Safari Elche got a herd of eight Cuvier's gazelles from Finca Experimental "La Hoya" aka Parque de Rescate de la Fauna Sahariana the first of December of 2020.

Video of the release of the gazelles, living now alongside Angolan giraffes. I know that zebras and ostriches (and maybe Scimitar-horned oryxes) live in this paddock, but the video doesn't mention them. It would make sense if they moved them somewhere else to reduce stress on the gazelles, but we can't confirm anything.

A bachelor herd of Mhorr gazelle has been added to RioSafari's collection. They arrived from Parque de Rescate de la Fauna Sahariana this July. I'm positively surprised with the park's recent additions to their species lineup.

@SivatheriumGuy, so am I. I am happy to see that finally animal and husbandry management and species coordinating staff consider it fitting and opt to look at the geographical locale and environmental/climatic conditions in zoos and other non traditional ex situ facilities for these arid lands and steppe-desert species across southern Europe. I would like to think that the entire arc from southern France through Austria and Czech Republic North and going back by Italy towards Spain and Portugal South provides as good and untapped and golden opportunity to expand their populations and numbers and ensure more robust and adaptable animals for possible release down the line. Remember: reintroductions and rewilding is by trial and error, but in any case a numbers game with a long haul 25-35 year vision. Go and conquer Europe for Cuvier's, dorcas, slender-horned and Mhorr gazelles ... please!
Indeed! I'm always delighted to see the rising number of Cuveirs and Mhorrs in public facilities!
I am curious to see what next new development is due at Rio Safari Elche! Also how the bachelor herds of Cuvier's and Mhorr gazelle have been doing?!
More desert adapted species and hopefully some local native fauna (Iberian lynx and wolf) too? Birds of prey? Bald ibis?

Bornean - they have 2.1 plus an infant born last October/November (I don't have the details)
Waldrapps seems like an amazing idea! I sadly don't have much info in the park's current plans other than they want to demolish the terrible parrot aviaries. They are slowly but steadily getting birds out, and once the entire zone has no inhabitants new development might start on the area.
