Here is an updated list of bird species exhibited when I went to the Riverbanks Zoo on 4/28/2024. Species highlighted in green were new additions since my last visit on 5/9/2021 (see separate post). Species highlighted in red were present on 5/9/2021 but absent (with no signage) during my 4/28/2024 visit.

There were 54 bird species during my 4/28/2024 visit (compared to 51 bird species on 5/9/2021). Their breakdown by IUCN conservation status is as follows:

Critically Endangered - 4 (7.41%)
Endangered - 2 (3.70%)
Vulnerable - 2 (3.70%)
Near Threatened - 4 (7.41%)

Thank you for the list. I visited this facility last year (May 2023) and also compiled a species list, which I posted here if you want to compare. I counted 49 species, so it looks like there was net gain of 5 species, although I should mention that I did not venture too far into the barnyard area, so I may have missed the 2 domestic landfowl.

Nicobar Pigeon were present on my visit, so that might be a recent removal. The others you highlighted in red were also not present on my visit, so they were long gone.

Hamerkop, Emerald Starling, and Violet-backed Starling were not present on my visit, so those are likely recent additions.

I did not enter the Lorikeet aviary either, but a keeper did confirm with me that the 2 species you mentioned are the only ones present.

Unless it’s changed in recent years you don’t need to pay to enter the Lori exhibit. In any event, you can also get a pretty good view inside from the indoor koala house.
