Rodents kept by North American zoos

Wildlife World Zoo Aquarium & Safari Park (BTS)
I saw White-Throated Woodrat (Neotoma albigula) in January

Arizona Pocket Mouse (Perognathus amplus) – 1 Total Holder (1.0.0)

Not signed or seen this January
Arizona Cotton Rat (Sigmodon arizonae) – 1 Total Holder (1.0.0)

According to your list, you saw the hispid cotton rat? Did you take any pics you could upload onto here?
I don't think I saw any cotton rat, but I had Cotton Rat (Sigmondon itispichus) as Signed, not seen. It's likely the cotton rat is the native AZ species but since I didn't see it either way I don't have a photo.

Do you have anymore information on the Indian crested porcupine you had signed for the Greater Vancouver Zoo? The Facebook photo is from July 2022.
Sure do! He is currently off exhibit but his name is "Philly", he's around 20 years old and was born at the Bronx Zoo. He was previously housed at the GV zoo alongside his sister "Padma", but she either passed or was transferred before I became a regular visitor.

Wow, I'm just now seeing this list and this is an incredible and helpful effort. I've got a scant few contributions, several of which I assume you're already aware of:

Eastern Gray Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) – 8 Total Holders (8.0.0)
Magnolia Plantation & Gardens
Passed away within the past year.

Lowland Paca (Cuniculus paca) – 12 Total Holders (10.0.2)
Brights Zoo
No longer on exhibit as of at least June of this year.

Rock Cavy (Kerodon rupestris) – 1 Total Holder (1.0.0)
Smithsonian National Zoo
Definitely gone.

Prevost’s Squirrel (Callosciurus prevostii) – 24 Total Holders (24.0.0)
Houston Zoo?
Did not see it during my July visit and do not recall signage, but I can't say anything with total confidence here.

Red-Rumped Agouti (Dasyprocta leporina) – 42 Total Holders (40.2.0)
Metro Richmond Zoo?
Affirmative.

Oklahoma City Zoo had Norway rat in June. Capitol of Texas Zoo has black-tailed prairie dogs. Riverbanks Zoo seems to still have Damaraland mole rats BTS. Greenville Zoo has a new pair of cape porcupines on exhibit as of a few weeks ago.

When I was at Houston last month, I asked about the Prevost's Squirrel and the keeper there said that it was old and doesn't come on exhibit often anymore, she didn't know if it passed away or was just in the back though as she didn't directly work with squirrel and otters

Passed away within the past year.

Is there some proof you could link? A video from July 2024 still has them signed on exhibit.

Definitely gone.

A species list from August 2024 lists them as being inside the Small Mammal House. Is that not accurate?

Were the Norway rats at the Oklahoma City Zoo on display or were they ambassador animals? Also if they were on display, did it specify if they were wild or domestic?

All other notes were accounted for.

No proof on the squirrel, just that when I visited in May of this year, someone asked a keeper about their white individual, who the keeper confirmed had passed. That was the only squirrel I was aware of them keeping, or ever saw on exhibit. It’s possible they have a new one, but I’d say equally possible that this place didn’t bother changing the signage. For what it’s worth I don’t recall if the signage was present during my visit or not.

As mentioned based on the location in the small mammal house, that user definitely just goofed and mixed up rock hyrax and rock cavy.

For OKCZ’s rats, they were on exhibit in the nocturnal house. I don’t recall if it specified wild or domestic, but I’m certain that the signage said “Norway rat” which to me has a slightly more wild connotation (as opposed to brown rat or especially fancy rat or whatever) but who knows.

They are on exhibit. They are wild type coloration, which doesn't mean they aren't domestic for sure however.

Black-Tailed Hairy Dwarf Porcupine (Coendou melanurus) – 3 Total Holders (3.0.0)

USA-
North Georgia Wildlife & Safari Park (AMB)
Do you recall how you made this species determination? USDA (hardly a reliable source, of course) lists Coendou mexicanus, and today when I took the tour at this zoo they simply referred to it as a “Mexican hairy porcupine” and I didn’t get a good enough look at it to get any sort of idea of what it was myself.

Facebook photo from March 2024, from the photo it looks like a black-tailed hairy dwarf porcupine.
