Run, run, run away: Cheetahs and their exhibits in zoos.

Chester Zoo has a good Cheetah exhibit. The females had an exhibit that is now empty but are now in with the males.I visited last year and one of the females was really close to the fence while another was busy stalking and chasing magpies.

Not about cheetah-exhibits but about their diet, very intresting ! :

Cheetahs in captivity need a better diet

Interesting. So basically this seems to be another species where it may be recommendable to provide a whole carcass with blod, fat, skin, organs and everything (instead of just providing "steak-like" pierces), feed less frequently but in larger quantities each time, and trying to minimize polyunsaturated fats in the diet. Not really a major surprise, but nice to see an actual study instead of hearsay. The full scientific publications are here:

Milwaukee County Zoo has a small Cheetah exhibit with a few trees and a moat, overlooking a savanna exhibit.
