Sacramento Zoo Sacramento Zoo News

The zoo is planning on relocating to the nearby city of Elk Grove. The land is 60 acres, which will allow the zoo to bring back some large species they no longer keep because of the space issues in William Land Park.

Here is the press release: Relocation - Sacramento Zoo

Great to see some movement on the plan. I can imagine the stagnation with the Sacramento City Council pushed the zoo to look at other alternatives such as this site.

Yeah, it also sounds like there just wasn't anywhere to go in Sacramento. Though it feels a bit odd that they're doing this right after bringing in the cheetahs and building the exhibit for them.

They didn't really "build" a new exhibit; they just modified an existing enclosure to house cheetahs instead of its original Australian inhabitants.

Animatronic dinosaurs have returned to the Sacramento Zoo. From October 21, 2021 to April 17, 2022, "Dino Don's Dinosaur Safari Presented by T Mobile" will reside at the zoo.
