Female giraffe, Ziphora, died suddenly in September 2020. They announced that the necropsy and toxicology reports could not determine the cause of death.
 
The zoo will be hosting a drive thru version of Dinos Alive! this fall. More details will be announced about the event soon.
 
2022 News:

On May 8th, the zoo announced that a (1.0) siamang named Felix was born on April 9th.

On May 14th, the zoo announced it officially opened for its 20th season, which includes a new ride area called the Furaha Playgrounds.*

On October 4th, it was announced they transferred a (0.1) prehensile-tailed porcupine named Sophia to the Assiniboine Park & Zoo in Manitoba.

On August 6th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) siamang named Mikasa was born in July and is now on exhibit.

Also on August 6th, the zoo announced they acquired a (1.0) blue wildebeest named Ben from the Toronto Zoo in Ontario, and is now on exhibit.

They acquired Merlin, the harlequin macaw(see last phrase), from the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Merlin lived for nearly 20 years at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. He will be spending the summer acclimating and introducing to other macaws. Merlin is actually not a rainbow macaw but a harlequin macaw, (greenwing x blue & gold). He actually lived in Pets Unlimited before being bought by the Museum.

Safari Niagara has a one week old Hippopotamus, as far as I can tell they haven't put anything up on social media yet I assume they're being cautious before making an announcement to the public.
Only found out because @dukiephoto posted some pictures on Instagram.
Assuming this is a outside of SSP birth.

On March 29th, 2025, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) red panda named Aahana which will be on display when the zoo opens for the season.

Joshua a male reticulated giraffe arrived from the Tanganyika Wildlife Park. He was born January 18, 2024 at the Tanganyika Wildlife Park. The giraffe deck will be closed this week to get him comfy.
Also it has been confirmed by the comments that the baby hippo that was born last year will be transferred to another accredited facility for breeding. The juvenile hippo is being weaned of, so he will not be visible.
