I doubt very much that either Barrow Council OR Defra will have been informed or notified of the transfer of these animals, because as we all know DG doesn't have to follow these required procedures, and as far as these two departments being " informed / notified " im laying my money on them having NO idea about it. Please could I ask, if it was the case that these animals had been removed to another country, without the necessary paperwork, micro chipping, etc could this be classed as smuggling these animals across to Spain? and, if this were the case, What would / could happen in a case like this.? just wondering.

To transfer the animal DG has certainly asked for the health-cetificate (TRACE), without the spanish zoo cannot receive the animal. So the authorities were informed. No idea why you suggest that they are smuggling these animals, you should be happy that they left SL.
These are questions I am asking to clear up issues I am wondering about. When you say the authorities would have to know', do you mean DEFRA or the local council or perhaps both? I am glad for the animals to see them safe. It isnt unreasonable for anyone to be suspicious about anything at all that goes on up there. Thanks for your reply to my post though.
