I never thought I would find this, but unfortunately someone is trying to sell Saiga horn "medicine" on eBay. Evidently, this guy has a lot to sell too with offers like "Buy 5 get 1 free." I've reported it to eBay. Normally, I wouldn't do this but if anyone out there with an eBay account could do the same it might make a huge difference. Here is the link to the ad. Hopefully it won't be working by the time you see it.

That is not too OK. The only thing that does/ would work is to report the whole thing direct to TRAFFIC so they can investigate the source ... and direct wildlife enforcement authorities to act upon these illegal activities and prosecute the culprits/traders. :(

I have posted this item to the relevant TRAFFIC authorities (International, Regional Office North America, Regional Office East Asia and P.R. China Office). That will put them on track of the saiga horn people ...

Let's hope that works. I reported every item I could find containing Saiga horn when I first posted this and nothing has been done yet.
 
Is it still up on E-Bay. If so a major complaint to a newspaper should do it.

I did alert the relevant international authorities and they contacted E-Bay on the double. They full well know it is illegal to sell and they have a code. I am surprised it is still up, if it is ... :mad:
 
This makes me want to cry because saigas are my favorite animals, I would also report this if i had an account on Ebay
 
Saigas are in a lot of danger because of poaching for there horns for traditional chinese medicine, and because of this there numbers are heavily declining, there is a need for Ex-Situ conservation for this species, saigas can really benefit from captive breeding programs, even the Antelope and Giraffe TAG was saying that there is a need for Ex-Situ conservation, but the only problem is that Saigas are very difficult to care for in captivity so that is what is holding Ex-situ conservation for saigas back as far as I am aware
