Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park

 
A female Grevy's zebra was born on April 16th, the first ever animal born at the WildCare park.

Saint Louis Zoo on Instagram: "Introducing the first ever animal born at Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park! Female Grevy's zebra Roxie was born April 16, making Saint Louis Zoo history! Roxie weighed 95.8 pounds at birth and is thriving. She is bonding with her mother, Gemma, and another female zebra, Laila, in the pastures at WildCare Park, the Zoo's sprawling North St. Louis County property under development to become a world-class safari park and conservation center. Grevy's zebras are the most endangered species of zebra in the world. Only around 2,500 remain in the wild today, according to current estimates. Today 12 critically endangered addax, one critically endangered Somali wild ass, and now three zebras (including the new addition!) live at WildCare Park. The property remains closed to the public while construction continues. We expect more than 250 animals, including giraffe, rhinos, kangaroos and other threatened species, to reside on the property by its public opening in 2027! The addax traveled from San Diego Zoo Safari Park and are settling in well alongside a group of Grevy's zebras, a Somali wild ass and four other addax already in our care at the park. These posts also state a Somali wild ass has arrived at the facility, which wasn't posted here. I guess it isn't surprising because the Saint Louis Zoo is so invested in the species.

14 addax (2.3 + 0.0.9),
3 banteng (1.2),
6 Grevy’s zebra (0.3 + 0.0.3)
1 Somali wild ass (0.0.1)

It would appear given the pictures ... these are adults and hence SD- Zoo Safari Park must have seemingly parted with half their current breeding herd.

3 Bactrian Camels named Jasper, Opal and Sardonyx, all aged 1-2 years, have arrived at the WildCare park.
Saint Louis Zoo on Instagram: "It's not a mirage! Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park welcomed its very first camel herd this summer! Meet Jasper, Opal and Sardonyx—three young Bactrian camels (ages 1–2) named after precious gems that are settling in well to WildCare Park, our safari park and conservation center under development in north St. Louis County. This species is built for extremes: Temperatures in their native range, the Gobi Desert of Mongolia, can swing from -20°F to 120°F! Bactrian camels are the only camels still roaming in the wild, though wild herds are extremely rare. Most are domesticated today. Guests will be able to meet these desert gems on guided safaris when WildCare Park opens in 2027. You can also still see Bactrian camels at the Saint Louis Zoo in Forest Park, where we’ve cared for this iconic two-humped species for many years."
 
I was disappointed that they said Bactrian Camels are the only camels still roaming in the wild.
Wild camels are now considered a separate species from Bactrian camels.

Also there’s that massive (albeit non-native) Dromedary population living wild in Australia
