The zoo is embarking on a construction project to be completed in 2014. (Two minor exhibits have been permanently closed to make room). It will be a central area - mainly visitor amenities - that includes an upscale restaurant. How upscale is anyone's guest, but I wholeheartedly endorse this because bad food is one of my pet peeves about American zoos. Their current cafe is adequate - better than many I have seen - but not outstanding. (The fruit salad was pretty good as I recall).
