San Diego Zoo San Diego Zoo News 2018

Hi, I’m new to the forum, but I saw a pair of Blue Coua on exhibit at the Zoo today and came across this thread as I was researching to try to learn more about them, so I thought I would share! There is a breeding pair now on exhibit in an aviary between Scripps Aviary and the Bonobo exhibit. I was told that one male is also now on exhibit in the AGA Aviaries. I’m looking forward to getting to know this species!

I posted a photo of one of the Blue Coua in the media section, for those who are interested in seeing it! This is one of the individuals in the breeding pair.

Eagle Trail is now open! Well technically, it has been open for a few weeks, but there haven’t been any birds on exhibit because they needed to finish some painting. As of today, species on exhibit were the Harpy Eagle, Ornate Hawk Eagle, and Steller’s Sea Eagle.

Thanks so much for answering this question. I have been so busy. Liz will be a great resource for Zoo Chat!
