San Diego Zoo Safari Park San Diego Zoo Safari Park 2020

I have been wondering what happened to the Safari Park's adult male tigers. I know that Denver, unfortunately, passed away sometime after the park closed in March. But I am not sure what happened to Langkha and Teddy...

langkha passed away last year and teddy transferred to another zoo for breeding

Teddy is at the San Francisco Zoo where donors who are alumni from Princeton University (whose mascot is a tiger) decided he should be renamed "Princeton". He was supposed to breed with their younger female, Jillian, but it doesn't appear they've had any luck yet.

Langka passed away in March 2019.

Currently the only male Sumatran tiger at the Safari Park is 3 year old Rakan, and he's related to all of the females who are there. His father is Teddy's littermate and his mother is an older sister to Joanne and Majel.

So any latest news on new exhibits perhaps after the children’s Zoo project possibly for a tram ride through the Asian field exhibits and walk through exhibits?

actually I don’t think he’s related to Diana. Correct me if I’m wrong

Where did you guys find the information about Rakan being related to all of the females?

Does the Safari Park maintain a breeding herd of Gaur or are they not breeding them and how many of them are there?

First Successful Cloning of a Przewalski’s Horse

The first successfully cloned endangered Przewalski’s horse was born on Aug. 6 in a veterinary facility in Texas, San Diego Zoo Global announced on Friday. The horse was cloned from DNA of a male Przewalski’s horse cryopreserved by the zoo in 1980.

The successful cloning of DNA collected 40 years ago is meant to introduce key generic diversity into the species that could benefit its survival. The zoo said the cloned Przewalski’s horse will eventually be transferred to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and integrated into a herd of other Przewalski’s horses for breeding.

The cloned Przewalski’s horse was named Kurt after Dr. Kurt Benirschke, the creator of the San Diego Zoo Global Frozen Zoo, which has been collecting and preserving genetic material of endangered animals since 1975.

Per the Safari Park's Facebook, it seems they're exhibiting some species of hyena (I wanna say striped) in Lion Camp? Does anyone have information on this?

I saw the image and it looked like a striped hyena.
It must of the one of the animal ambassadors that they go with their handlers to meet people.
