It's been about 3 years since a comprehensive list of on-display species has been posted for one of the largest animal collections in the country - back in 2022 when both myself and @red river hog did so. While we do now have Zootierliste as a reference also, it is hard to tell from that list what is still present and viewable vs what is not - and it doesn't tell you where to find them all - so I hope this list will still be found useful. I am also currently planning a full walk-through/review thread for this giant zoo... but that will be a bigger project which will take weeks, whereas this was very straightforward and is ready to post now.

I will break this thread into multiple posts due to size. Also, I was not able to see 100% of the zoo on my most recent visit. Areas I missed are as follows:
  • Owens Aviary (currently closed due to renovations)
  • Asia Passage (leopards skipped for time, rest skipped due to timed entry issues for Giant Panda)
  • Scripps Aviary (upper level closed for door maintenance; still got photos of signage, just not sure it's 100% complete and unsigned species not accounted for)
  • Bus Loading Aviary (AKA the Kagu aviary) (missed due to timing, bus loading area had closed by the time I attempted to see it @ 17:30)
Where possible I will bring in information from past visits about these areas to fill in the blanks. If any of that information is outdated - or if I make a mistake anywhere, or miss an unsigned species - I strongly encourage people to point it out for accuracy's sake :)

Due to the sheer number of species present, I will frequently not indicate species seen/not seen unless it was a noteworthy absence. In that case it will be marked in italics. Unsigned species are preceded by (unsigned).
