What makes san diego zoo & san diego safari park better than every other zoo out there? what animals are only displayed at these too places? How big are they? What's the best exhibit there?

Not everyone thinks that the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park are the best zoos out there. They are certainly great institutions but they both have their shares of flaws of that are easier to fix than other institutions.

Who said san Diego Zoo is better than others ? It is a zoo like all others, with good things, bad things. But what I can say is, San Diego Zoo isn't that good as most people say., but it is no bad Zoo. I like the tropical planting, thats one of the best things in that zoo, which still has lot of so called "outdated" exhibits.

Much better is San Diego WAP.

I agree with Fuzzball analysis completely. However, there ARE people on this thread who say San Diego is the best (at least in America). I am not one of them, there are several zoos I like more, but there are people here who rate it #1. One of these I think is snowleopard who has visited more major American zoos in the last few years than any other ZooChatter, so he can certainly make an informed decision.

As for what animals they have, the short answer is just about everything (which is why so many ZooChatters rate it so highly).

I agree with Fuzzball (although I might have made my post a little shorter). However, to be fair to San Diego, they do have some very nice exhibits. I have not been to either Berlin Zoo, but my impression is that while the number of animals between them and San Diego is similar, the animals in San Diego are housed in better conditions overall.

I certainly do not think San Diego is a bad zoo (I do not think anyone does), I just do not think it is the undisputed #1 in the USA like others do.
