Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Sawfish in TMII

So far, no Indonesian zoos and aquariums have sawfish, the only Indonesian captivity to ever kept this fish is Dunia Air Tawar of TMII from April 1994 until 2005. The largetooth sawfish pair are wild caugth from Lake Sentani in New Guinea. After the pair died, their aquarium houses alligator gars. Other details of the sawfish is unknown, since the staffs who worked in those years no longer worked there, the only record of the pair is the aquarium's ticket from 2004 - 2005 and sawfish statues in the Papua Pavillion.

Apparently, Dunia Air Tawar is "still struggling" to find another sawfish. If this is true, then I hope they don't abandoned the plan, but finding a sawfish in Lake Sentani is definitely a hard work. If they do managed to acquire one or more, I recommend displaying them at the archerfish pond (The archerfish could be moved in one of the wall tanks, most of the water on those aquariums are low enough for visitors to see them spitting on their foods). The vibe around that pond is just special, like when you enter that area, you would expect to see a rarity, not to mention that this used to house an crocodile (Saltwater crocodile).
