This project has been long in the planning stages.
It finally sees the Emirates / Abu Dhabi come on board as one of the driving forces behind this particular project. Most importantly, it may see a portion of the captive population be introduced that is unrelated to any EEP/SSP and other regional breeding programmes scimitars (the founder stock originated purportedly in Sudan as opposed to Chad for the EEP/SSP stocks).
