So here's a question. What happened that made them remove the sea lions from the exhibit formerly known as "Sea Lion Cliffs"? And where are they now? Are they in the crappy exhibit in Adventure Island or the crappy exhibit in the aquatics section? Do they still have grey seals? Why don't they put them in "Sea Life Cliffs" too?

The reason why the sea lions are no longer Sea Life Cliffs (which it is called now) is because the old sea lions that were there were extremely old and could'nt get out of the pool on there own. They were moved back to the old exhibit for that reason and the harbor seals now live hear. They are much more active then the geriatric sea lions

Wow, harbor seals more active? Those must be some SLUGGISH sea lions.

The Sea lions were too old and couldn't get out of the pool, so they were moved to their old exhibit in the aquatics section, which will get demolished for the new Reptile House.

The exhibit remained closed for about 2 months, but then the zoo received four female harbor seals from an Aquarium in New Jersey (not sure which) while their exhibit was being refurbished, so the seals are not permanent. Now the zoo has 5 because they rescued a blind male from a beach in So. Cal. and is now doing well with the 4 females. I don't think the zoo can move the Gray seals into Sea life cliffs, mainly because 3 out of the 4 are old, and I think 2 of them are blind.

When Sea Lion Cliffs opened there was 5 sea lions, now all that is left are 2, which are an old male and his daughter.

I'm thinking that when the Seals return to NJ, that the zoo will try to acquire more sea lions and put them back in Sea Lion Cliffs with the young female, cause I'm sure the old male will probably die in a year or two.

Will they change the name back do you suppose?

Well, the zoo never really put up a sign by the exhibit that said "Sea Lion Cliffs" or "Sea Life Cliffs". The name has been only used in the map/guide, so the change will not be hard. All the zoo needs to do is type a different name on the map and that's it.

I still think the exhibit could have been better. Instead of doing two small pools, they should have done one large one.

From a management perspective, having two seperate pools allows keepers more flexibility to seperate animals and still allow time for each animal on exhibit, if it is ever needed.
