Sea World Gold Coast 'Seaworld Gold Coast' acquiring gorillas, hippos?

Did those three males from Taronga ever make it to New Zealand? I'm trying to think where they'd get gorillas from without going overseas.
 
From a mate doing 'captive animals' certificate, who visited Seaworld the other day. Do you think they'd import hippos from other 'Seaworld's?
 
There's no connection between Sea World on the Gold Coast and the Seaworld chain in the US.
 
Sea World had plans for a "hippo beach" or something along those lines in 1999 or thereabouts but it was cancelled. Perhaps they are reviving the idea. If they are getting gorillas, it seems most likely they will be the Taronga bachelor group.
 
Or could be Tarongas youngest male Mahale and mayby a mate might be found for him once he is older just a thought if the other 3 do end up going to Orana
 
Given Sea Worlds financial resources and a desire for a crowd pleasing exhibit l would be really surprised if they are planing for a bachelor group.
 
found out that Sea World are planning on importing their gorillas. So not the Taronga ones. Will be interesting to see if it actually happens. I can't say that gorillas are the first thing that come to mind when thinking "Sea World"!

Maybe they are moving up from sea monkeys to sea great apes:rolleyes:.
 
Sea world, is a ZAA member and also a part of Village Roadshow... They also have plans for giraffe, zebra and other African animals. . . Werribee zoo theme park comes to mind. Only now on the Gold Coast.
 
@David Brown: As far as I know, Sea World Gold Coast is connected (in a way) with the movie company Warner Bros.

So I agree with some of you guys here that gorillas do not really fit to a marine park theme. But I like the idea of @Jarkari creating another Park with Africans animals in the same region. What about the label "Warner Bros. African Safari Park" (with - I keep on dreaming - African elephants among others;))?
 
None of the following posts have given an answer to the probable source of the hippos, a more difficult species to import.
 
If it is a Warner Bros park, then shouldn't it have tasmanian devils?

I assume they have no problem importing animals. My very small zoo in Tucson (USA) sent them a polar bear many years ago, to be paired up with another one they got from China.

Polar Bears are not going to potentially vector a disease that could disrupt an entire industry, like hippos could for cattle.
