*Misc News: During the year, many Florida manatees as well as a (0.0.1) loggerhead sea turtle (there are probably more but not mentioned) were rehabilitated and released back into the wild.

Does anyone know anything about 3 commerson's being at the main park? They're on December's USDA inspection.

That is quite unfortunate. I always enjoyed the bird collection that was scattered across the grounds.
Agree. There has been a slow decrease in the bird population at all 3 SeaWorld parks, especially San Diego and Orlando after the Blue Horizons show ended. Some of those birds may have been there on contract with bird trainers. But, the focus on animals in general continues to decrease. I am a huge roller coaster fan, but SeaWorld needs to stick to their zoological park roots in my opinion.

I was wondering what all the construction is. Where did you get that info? I’d love to learn more
It was announced at the town hall meeting which took place at SeaWorld Orlando last night. Besides what I mentioned above, no more details were discussed regarding the stadium renovation. Construction has started on the roof, hence the need to close the stadium and stage construction should be starting soon.

Orca Stadium is receiving a brand new stage currently that is supposed to look like San Diego's but even better. I can't wait to see how this turns out!
Awesome news! San Diego's stage looks absolutely amazing; it would be great to see it at Orlando.

Hopefully this means, they use San Diego's orca encounter presentation too; rather than the hybrid of one ocean and orca encounter that they currently run.;)

Orcas are by far my favorite animal, nothing gets me hyped up more than them and I would pay anything to see them everyday... that being said... San Diego's Orca Encounter put me to sleep - I actually took a quick nap during the show (while a friend filmed for me). It's absolutely dull, uninspiring, and the trainers looked like they didn't want to be there either. Even with the music, I get a lot more out of Orlando's show in terms of education, getting to know the individual animals, and their incredible abilities.

The thing about San Diego's orca encounter is it's very repetitive, and a lot of the same behaviours are performed at specific parts of the show. So if you love orcas like me and go see the shows frequently, i can agree with it getting boring at times. I do miss the days when they'd have more than two or three orcas performing one segment at a time!

I'd much prefer if Seaworld went back to the occasional shows they used to run; the Shamu Story, which I feel was very intriguing; probably due to the reason that there was never any script they tended to follow. We got to learn a lot more about the orcas individually, alongside their abilities and how they're cared for (which I think San Diego's Orca Encounter lacks).

So according to a majority of rumors going around since the meeting, Orlando will not be doing the Northwest Pacific theme like San Diego has done but rather something of a mix between the current stadium and the dolphin stadium at Orlando. I am somewhat disappointed as the Northwest pacific theme would have fit the stadium very well and a new show design could have come from it as well. Instead it sounds like its just a color pallet change to browns, blues, and tans with some wood and rock texture being added along with a couple palms.

The Dolphin Adventures setup is a bit reminiscent to the Shamu Adventure, if it wasn't going to be Pacific Northwest themed I would want it to be close to that.

The Orca show is still going on, but the stadium is about 1/2 closed. This makes getting in and out a real bottleneck as there are only two or three (I think 2) entries being used.
