There sure are, quite a few of them too. I counted 13-14 in the habitat when I was there yesterday. Given the depth and previous occupants that must be one of the deepest magellanic penguin habitats in the USA. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can answer, but it seemed like there were more harbor seals in the outdoor Pacific Point Preserve, I counted 6, perhaps they moved them there?

Must we rename this exhibit "Wild ANTarctic" soon.... ;):D

(Yes, I know that Magellan penguins to not occur that far in the south, but still a shame what happened to that once impressive immersion exhibit).:(

Allegedly it is temporary as they have rumored that the walrus habitat will be expanded. That said, I agree, Wild Arctic was super cool when it opened. The helicopter ride was fun and the design of the whole complex is unique. It is so weird how you enter through the gift shop now, it makes the whole area feel like an after thought. But harbor seals in that exhibit we always a little "meh", especially when they are also out in the Pacific Point area. It would be super cool if they could get more ringed seals or something for that enclosure.
 
In penguin related news, the Antarctica Realm opens May 25 and includes a revamped Expedition Café, Polar Supply store, and penguin habitat.**

It was never impressive for the inhabitants. It was always a terrible enclosure for polar bears, and these days the beluga and walrus tanks looks cramped.

Yes, if you overlooked that it was a very good immersion exhibit and unique in the zoo world. I always loved the colour of the “sky” on the inside.
 
On June 16th, the marine park announced that they rehabilitated and released 5 green sea turtles and a Kemp's ridley sea turtle back into the wild.

On July 7th, it was announced that a (1.0) Atlantic bottlenose dolphin named Ridgeway passed away at age 2 on June 13th.

Captive Cetacean News on Instagram: "Ridgway, an estimated 2 year old male Atlantic bottlenose dolphin, was euthanized on the early morning of the 13th of June at SeaWorld Orlando. Ridgway had previously been moved to the backpools a few weeks ago. He was extremely ill which lead to him being visibly lethargic. Ridgway's condition continued to decline and the decision was made to humanely euthanize him. When the next MMIR is available, a cause of death(or in this case, what caused his pain) will be known if found at the necropsy. Ridgway was rescued in 2022 after getting stuck in a crab trap in Clearwater, Florida, United States. He had been seen days before with his mother, and his rescue made headlines due to the similarities with Winter, the bottlenose dolphin without a tail. He was named after Sam Ridgway, a notable cetacean veterinarian who died a week before his rescue. Thank you to all who messaged me and contributed so I could get the information I needed correct.
