SeaWorld Orlando SeaWorld Orlando News

No official public announcement has been made yet, but according to the San Diego thread, @zoocentral has found out from some private trusted sources that the park will receive SeaWorld San Diego's emperor penguins (the only ones in the continent) later this month. Keepers from SWO have been seen visiting SWC to learn how to care for Emperors and are preparing for this transfer. Also, the park is due to receive a portion of San Diego's macaroni penguin colony as well.
Interesting, I wonder where they would put them. The main penguin area is already pretty crowded.

There is a thread about the emperor penguins, but I think it's worth a mention here too. The emperor penguins (as well as some macaronis) are now at SeaWorld Orlando and on display in Antarctica.
Very glad they made it! They definitely going to bring more life and magnificence to the enclosure.

The person says "we have the emperors...well, most of them" what could that mean?

1.0 harbor seal "Turtle" was euthanized due to a cancerous growth on May 7th, 2025. Turtle was born at the park on May 29th, 1990, and had lived there his entire life.

As of 2024, Turtle had more than 24 living offspring housed across seven facilities in the US and the UAE, and sired a minimum of 40 pups over his lifetime.

Additionally, a 0.0.1 California sea lion pup was born on June 2nd, 2025.

I just found out on my visit today they got emperor penguins, but the penguin exhibit is closed and apparently has been all week. No word on when it will reopen or what happened.
