Elephant expansion planned:
'Our Growing Herd': Sedgwick County Zoo launches campaign for elephant habitat expansion
"This ambitious initiative aims to expand the existing Elephant Boma within the Reed Family Elephants of the Zambezi River Valley Habitat," the zoo said in a release on Wednesday.
The initial timeline for the campaign involves community fundraising engagement through next year and a ground-breaking in the fall of 2025. Completion of the project is anticipated for the fall of 2026.
