Serpent Safari

Serpent Safari, in the city of Gurnee just on the outskirts of Chicago, has closed after 15 years of operation. There were issues with the mall where it was located, and did any ZooChatter ever visit this establishment?

I've visited. Nothing too great. Just a bunch of reptile exhibits. At one point they claimed to have the largest python in the world. Other of note reptiles they had were; Nile crocodile, iguanas and chameleons. I don't remember the exact list of animals held. There was a cost associated with visiting the zoo portion, but one could go into the store and look at the reptiles they had for sale. They also had the opportunity to touch snakes and have photos taken with them o tortoises. It closed due to the mall changing that particular area to a higher quality section.
