Recently a female Yellow-headed day gecko (Phelsuma klemmeri) arrived from Folly Farm Zoo, she will be paired to the male that already lives at the zoo.

Recently a pair of Golden-headed lion tamarin (Leontopithecus chrysomelas) were born, the now has 8 Golden-headed lion tamarins.

In October a Cotton-top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus) was born.
Recently 2 female Red ruffed lemurs (Varecia rubra) were send to Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park. I believe that this is a new species for Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park.

A new species has arrived at the zoo: a male Binturong (Arctictis binturong) named Orson arrived at the zoo. Its the first time that this species has been kept in Shaldon Zoo.
I don't know to which subspecies Orson belongs and where he came from.

I believe Colchester held an individual several years ago named Orson, however, I cannot confirm if this is the same individual.
It is that individual. Social media replies state they are expecting a female too.
Glad to hear the new civet has arrived. The binturong is from Colchester, the zoo got their last male
Shaldon have announced that a margay kitten was born there in early March and is just beginning to appear at the entrance to the nest box.

Sadly the last Green acouchy (Myoprocta pratti) passed away recently, a male named Dave. He was also the last Green acouchy kept in a zoo in the UK according to ZTL.
