as anyone out there got any pics or photos or even maps of sherwood zoo in hucknall ? would be very greatfull if you have as i have been looking for sometime and not found much.
 
Welcome to ZooChat, although it looks like you have been here a while. Sherwood is a blast from the past, unfortunately I never visited.
 
Hi english bull . I visited Sherwood Zoo when I was in college in Nottingham many years ago . At that time Nick Nyoka was based there with his very large male lion Simba( ? ) , I remember Nyoka feeding it a bottle of milk . I do have a guide book somewhere which probably has a map , will look for it when I get a chance .
 
Hi, if you 'google' Sherwood Zoo you can find a film clip of Martin Lacy who ran it and some interesting pics of Gosta the baby elephant. It was housed on Broomhill Park. Many fond memories...
 
I did find my guide book but it does not have a map in it . I can list species mentioned in it if this is of interest .

Hi, is there a photo of Martin and June Lacy on the front cover with their two horses and dogs? Are you interested in selling you guide book?
 
Both front and back covers show the baby elephant . The picture of the Laceys with horses and dogs is on page 3 . Sorry , not interested in selling the guide book . I could copy it though .
