I went to Shoalhaven Zoo today and a couple of notes:
- They’re expecting giraffes and are going to modify the water buffalo’s exhibit to accomodate them. The sign states they’re waiting on the Australasian breeding program to acquire them but nothing has been built for them yet
- I didn’t get to see the Elongated Tortoises, they had two exhibits but both were empty which could be due to the heat
- They’re rebuilding the Dingo enclosures. When I asked where they had gone, I was told that they all had to be put down due to an illness but they’re excited to have them back
Curious to see how the giraffes and having dingos back at the zoo goes!

Welcome to the forum @Tigergal and thanks for your trip report on Shoalhaven. Giraffes will be a very popular addition I'm sure as Shoalhaven hopefully joins the growing list of new holders with Tasmania and Hunter Valley in recent times.
On the subject of tortoises, are the Aldabra Giant Tortoises and Leopard Tortoises on-show at Shoalhaven? Also, any luck seeing the Maned Wolves?

Thank you for the welcome! There was an exhibit for the Aldabra Giant Tortoise, but none on display and their entry ramp into the reptile house was not so giant. There were two Leopard Tortoises in their box on exhibit
We managed to see the Maned Wolves on both walk pasts! First they were right up in the corner of their exhibit, far away from the walkway and the second they were out on the rocks but it appeared that the den was opened (we were there at about 3:30) and they wandered off display

On April 15th, 2022, the zoo announced that they acquired a (0.0.1) albino reticulated python which is now on exhibit.

Our gorgeous little Rufous Bettong has a name! ‘Wreck-It-Ralph’ Or ‘Ralph’ for short. Why you might ask? Well, cute and adorable as he may be, he’s also nocturnal and loves to get up to mischief when we’re all sleeping. Namely wrecking his home! Two Eastern Pilbara Spiny-tailed Skinks have been born at Shoalhaven. The founders of their breeding population were collected illegally from the wild and rescued via the Western Australian government - reported on their FB page.
A male pair of Golden Lion Tamarins have arrived at Shoalhaven from Adelaide Zoo, being a new species for the collection - reported on social media.
Another new species has arrived and been mixed with the Golden Lion Tamarins - a trio of Red-rumped Agouti.

Our marmoset twins are one month old!
At this age, they're still spending most of their time clinging to mum or dad, but are beginning to observe and interact with their environment. In marmoset families, both parents (and even older siblings) help care for the young, making them one of the most cooperative primates!
Having a look at previous posts, they were initially posted on the 4th of July, where they’re noted as ‘growing fast’
