This is a historical short documentary movie about Prague zoo from year 1949. It includes also look at visitors amenities and backstage.
It brings back memories because many of these exhibits were still there in 1980s in unchanged form (due to longterm lack of investment funds during that period).
The zoo was very popular with locals since its creation in 1930s but still little strange to see drowes of happy people enjoying their weekend. Year 1949 was just one year after communist putch in Czechoslovakia, so we are in the middle of large scale political terror, kangeroo courts and executions, 100.000 political prisoners, labour camps, total violent nationalisation of all arable and forested land, farm animals, banks and private companies.
