Chester Zoo Short news update from 30th July 09

The dik-dik enclosure is at the north end of the ostrich enclosure.

If you walk from the Twilight Zone via Miniature Monkeys and carry straight on across the path to the pelican enclosure, it is on the left.

If you walk down from Monkey Islands station towards the bears it is on the right at the bottom of the pelican enclosure.

Or as CZJimmy says, it's the same stable block at the Gemsbok.

Sorry but does Chester keep two pairs then? And where exactly is the other aviary?

They have 1.1 usually in the Tropical Relam and their daughter usually in the aviary next to the Snowy Owls which is where the kestrels used to be before they built the Asian aviary and stocked it with un-viewable passerines.

I did not see the single female today but the label is still on the fence so she may have just been out of sight. The pair from the Tropical Realm have been taken off show becasue of work in their aviary. I hope this gets them breeding again.

thanks Bongorob, I shall have to check it out tomorrow.

I wonder what this means with the Red & Yellow Barbets then if they arent in the Realm anymore, i wonder if they could be moving to the African Aviary?

Shame that it appears that there are no Rhino Hornbills on show, though i do hope this gets them breeding again.

Quick question seeing as the Rare Parrot Breeding Centre is off-show, are the Bongos and Cranes also off-show?

no, they are on-show. The fenced off bit stretches from the last of the owl aviaries to just beyond the parrot entrance

You could be right Zoomania. The zoo are supposed to be putting more species into the Tsavo aviary.
