Should the location of new species hidden?

My feeling is that they should most definitely remain hidden.

In fact, given that a specie's conservation status is dependant on the number left in the wild, the rate of decline, and the geographical range of the species, it seems logical that if it took us this long to discover it, then surely it is already endangered! So, let's just protect it from now.

Of course, to protect the species would involve revealing its location, and here we are back at square one.

Oh, here is the article, by the way: BBC News - Should the location of newly discovered species be hidden?
