From what I've read, the expansion will add galleries with holographic technology representing various oceanic habitats including the deep sea as well as a marine research facility. Old article but it's one of the only sources for this: Sentosa's S.E.A. Aquarium rebranding to S'pore Oceanarium in 2024, to be 3 times larger

I actually haven't been to S.E.A. Aquarium in many years, is there still currently anything interesting there to see aside from just a casual visit for fun? (Aside from that Genshin Event which I'm very much curious about)

Rarities include the manta rays (including a melanistic individual), bumphead parrotfish, elephant fish and a blue American lobster. The broadclub cuttlefish were new iirc. No more freshwater species on display when I visited in May. The dolphin tank is closed for upgrading. I'll post a probably very incomplete species list soon if it helps

The paddlefish tank was boarded up and the two former freshwater tanks are now home to lionfish and a number of wrasses

To give more info on the species at Sentosa, here are a few rarities that I came across during my visit two weeks ago:
- Horse-shoe leatherjacket (Meuschenia hippocrepis)
- Cape elephantfish (Callorhinchus capensis)
- Banded scat (Scatophagus tetracanthus)
- Scaly whipray (Brevitrygon walga)
- Longnose surgeonfish (Zebrasoma rostratum)
- Russell's lionfish (Pterois russelii)
- Scott's wrasse (Cirrhilabrus scottorum)
- Redtail wrasse (Anampses chrysocephalus)

The aquarium also still keeps 1.2 Hasselt's bamboosharks (Chiloscyllium hasseltii) in its main ocean tank. I was unable to find any despite hours of searching.
