I spent a lovely day at Franklin Park Zoo near Boston on Monday, October 26, 2009. I've set up a Picasa slide show for the enjoyment of others. To access it, go to my website and click on Photos on the left panel. The griffon vultures and African wild dogs were especially wonderful. The animal staff were very friendly and informative.

Ahhh, New England in the fall! Can't get any prettier! Loved your photos! Nice little zoo with good signage and interpretation. Do you know who the muralist was? David Rock?

Beautiful slide shows. I checked out your sister's Sacramento Zoo photos as well, since I just visited there in September for the first time. "I'll be back" to view the other two zoos too. Great website.:cool:
 
Great set of photos! I'm really happy you liked the vultures--I think they are so beautiful. Good vantage of the flamingo exhibit, too, one of the few exhibits that's still an old fashioned pit in the ground. The zoo dates to 1913, so the aviary isn't older than that. Glad you had a good time!
