Small cat collections

I know, I was just saying because on @Dassie rat's list he didn't include cougars but included lynx species, whereas on yours you added cougars hence one of the inconsistencies. However, essentially, I do agree with you - it does seem a bit odd. @qthemusic could the definition for the purposes of this thread be modified to include all traditionally-accepted 'small' cats (even though cougars are much larger than clouded leopards and normally larger than leopards and longer than jaguars)?

The Ark don't keep Rusty Spotted Cat either!

Hoo Farm should have serval, caracal, bobcat, fishing cat, European/Scottish wildcat (both signed so not sure...), and rusty-spotted. They're also due to get jungle cats in the near future, unless they've already arrived whilst it has been closed.

They might well be signed Scottish,but they certainly aren't!

Lynx have always been deemed "traditional" small cats, however I mean, wasn't that long ago they were deemed congeneric with domestic tabbies!

Long gone are the days when Chester had a fairly extensive collection. Certainly early eighties when all of the cat house was in use and there where additional cages in the vincinity it’s as well. I miss seeing a few smaller cats as even Dudley and Drayton have decimated their cat collections. I understand to a degree with the energetic stamina of felines is inspiring ... to me going home and jumping into bed for a great kip!

We have two small cat species in the Wildlife park on the Isle of Man- the Fishing Cat which can be quite elusive (we make monthly visits and I went a whole year without seeing them) but they can be very active when they venture out. They also have Eurasian Lynx who are so active I think they think they are dogs.
