JC is Chester Zoo's breeding male mandrill - and a firm favourite with many Chester ZooChatters.Yesterday his tool using exploits were featured on BBC Radio 4's flagship news show 'Today' and can be viewed on the BBC website BBC Nature - Mandrill monkey makes 'pedicuring' tool

There are lots of monkey jokes that I could make here - but I am too fond of JC to make any

Did they make a joke about him on the radio? It's usually the way with BBC presenters - they fawn all over celebrities but appear ignorant of anything to do with wildlife and finish with a 'joke'.

No they played it straight (Radio 4 usually does ). A presenter interviewed the researcher and then he talked with his oppo about orange sticks for a moment. I was a little disappointed that JC didn't get a namecheck on the broadcast or the website.
