Calgary's elephants, Kamala, Swarna and Maharani, should be arriving sometime shortly after April 13. Calgary is holding a farewell event for them until that date. The 13th is listed as their last weekend, so it makes sense they will be gone soon there after.

I have yet to see construction on this exhibit so it's definitely a mystery where it's going to be located and how long it takes to complete.

As has been stated before on here many times and as it states on the zoo's website, the enclosure will be placed by the prairie dogs supposedly.

Yes, but I have heard of different locations and I have not seen construction in any of them. Where on the website does it confirm it's by the prairie dog exhibit?

I believe on the page where they collect donations if memory serves.

The zoo has discovered the gender of Shera's cubs. It's 3 boys and a girl putting the lion cub split at 3,3. Naba has introduced her girls to Shera and they are spending time together while keepers expect it will be a couple more weeks before Shera introduces her litter Naba and the girls. No mention of the proud papa.

Male Rhea, Carlos, has died due to heart failure, chronic renal disease and amyloidosis. He's being replaced in the group by his son but breeding will not occur because the youngster will be with his grandmother and eventually his aunt. Following the bird house renos new unrelated females will arrive.
