Smoking

Ive also noticed in a similar point that Chester Zoo is now selling alchohol to zoo vistors personally i think this is unecessary. But other members my think differently

Selling alcohol?? What the? Sorry but that's pubs and bars are for! Why must people need a drink everywhere they go, surely this is just promoting alcoholism to the youngsters.

As for the smoking, agree 100% about designated areas, at least! Again its just inconsiderate, OK these people have a habit but does everyone else have to suffer health wise for it!

Yes I am strongly opinionated but just feel that so many people do not consider others anymore...

I think it's interesting that we've gotten to this point pertaining to the dialogue about smoking. Even when I was a kid,not that terribly long ago, it would be laughable to think of the restrictions we have at present. I think it's generally a good thing. I live in a major tobacco-growing region of the US and even we ban smoking in enclosed public areas. I've gotten so used to it that when I go to a town that allows smoking indoors, I'm almost nauseated. As far as zoos go,I think cigarette butts are one of the most common forms of waste that we see every day. I'm sure zoos want to limit that as much as anyone.

from what I have observed before Melbourne zoo completely banned smoking, it was really obvious more so than many other places. It's probably just me though.

In Barcelona Zoo I haven't seen any sign banning smoking, but I also have to say I have never seen anybody smoking inside the zoo.
